  2. Merry Christmas everyone! Asteriods (sic) is my Christmas gift to the
  3. Amiga community, I hope you all like it.  Asteriods is Giftware, feel free
  4. to give it to whomever you please but charge no more than the value of the
  5. media plus your copying time if you charge anything at all.
  6.  
  7. Asteriods loads all of its images from a single IFF/ILBM file called
  8. "template.ilbm".  If you don't like any or all of the shapes of the
  9. asteroids or ships just edit this file.  The images must remain the
  10. same size as before and be roughly circular (collision detection is
  11. based on circular objects).  Sounds are loaded from a set of IFF/8SVX
  12. sound files which you can also change to your liking.  Imagine the
  13. Vincent Price laugh instead of an explosion when you die!  The files
  14. are:

  16.     crash.snd    -- played when you are killed
  17.     fire.snd    -- played when you fire a shot
  18.     cheer.snd    -- played when you get a free man
  19.     thrust.snd    -- played when you press the thrust key
  20.     boing.snd    -- played when the alien fires a shot
  21.     alarm.snd    -- played when the alien appears
  22.     break.snd    -- played when an asteroid is broken

  24. Playing instructions & other info are available from with the program,
  25. briefly use Z & X to rotate, . to thrust, / to fire and space for
  26. hyperspace.  (Surviving hyperspace is a really healthy thing for your
  27. game situation but you've only got a 50% chance of doing it).

  29. If you've got Blitzfonts, run that first --- it makes a difference
  30. on the higher levels.

  32. Source will be released as soon as I clean it up enough that I'm not
  33. ashamed of it :-)
